HANDS ON LEARNING

The best way to learn is to do and we provide you with support while you do. You have a whole host of resources at your disposal Includes weekly talks or workshops, weekly producer meetings, designated mentor meetings, and a diverse pool of mentors for specialized assistance in technical areas like art and level design.

TRUE TO INDUSTRY LIFE & PROCESS

Build your game from game conception to pitching. The program recreates what is it like to make a game in a studio as you work with people you haven't met before and go through a development pipeline with development phases as in the industry but in a condensed timeframe, providing you with true to life experience of working in a development studio

CHALLENGE

Challenging you to leverage your skills while creating a game end to end while upskilling. This programmer is learner led. By that we mean: you get out of it what you put into it, and the more you research and effort you put into it the better you will do. So push yourself to achieve and learn.

NOT-SO-SOFT SKILLS

During your time on the programme you will have a chance to cultivate your soft skills: communication, teamwork, leadership and more. You will soon realise that these are not-so-soft skills as they are ultimately necessary and imperative to the project as a whole.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Project management is a skill that you will cultivate during the programme and is something that is transferrable across any discipline and any job. The programme will go over some Project Management theory too! Managing this project and the scope and timescale will be of utmost importance to make sure that the deliverable is delivered on time.

AIMS

  • Allow participants to see what it is like creating a game as done in real life in the industry condensing the timeline into 6 weeks

  • Learning experience - try new things, get out of your comfort zone, make mistakes and learn

  • Upskill participants in soft skills and project management

  • Simulate the experience of a real game development pipeline

  • Help participants try disciplines so they figure out what they want to specialise into

  • Help participants gain a foothold in the industry

  • Help introduce people to different aspects of game dev and try new skills

  • Allow a wide variety of participants to join from any background

  • Create an accessible game that is playable by anyone

  • Showcase participant abilities as they apply prior learnings
